Birth

When Joanna Crandall was born in 1671 in Westerly, Rhode Island, her father was Joseph Crandall (1661–1737), and her mother was Deborah Burdick (1662–1737), Joanne had no siblings.

She married Samuel Lewis in 1687 in her hometown. They had seven or eight children during their 49 years of marriage
