She passed away in 1900[1] and is buried in Bevins Grove Cemetery, Saint Anthony, Iowa.[2][3]
Obituary
Mrs. Rebecca Atkinson was born on Sept. 10, 1811, and died on Sept 25, 1900. She was united in marriage to George Atkinson in 1835. To them were born seven children, three of whom survive, two daughters, Mrs. Harriet Hughes, of Rushville, Ind., and Mrs. Herminnie Snoddy, of Oxford, Mo., and one son Mr. W.R. Atkinson, with who she has made her home since the death of her husband, which occurred about twenty-seven years ago. Deceased united with the Disciple church at the age of 15 years, of which she has since been a faithful member. She was baptized by Alexander Campbell. Deceased has lived in the vicinity for a number of years and leaves numerous friends, who join the relatives in mourning her loss. The funeral services were held at the Christian church Wednesday at 10 o'clock, conducted by Rev. R.W. Curlus, after which the remains were laid to reset in the Bevins Grove cemetery.
