Notes

From Ancestory.com (adamsonacre); Issac Jennings was the son of Henry Jennings. His mother does not appear to be Margaret Busse. It is currently unknown who his mother was and he was probably born out of wedlock. According to the History of Henry Jennings and Margaret Jennings, they died childless. Howeve according to "Sketches of the first emigrant settlers in Newton Township, Old Gloucester County, West New Jersey", when Margaret died she acknowledged both Sarah and Issac as being the reputed children of Henry and left them each a portion of her real estate. I have found no other records that would prove or disprove this. If Henry was not their bioligical father why whould his wife have said this or given them property.. It has been suggest that Sarah was Issacs mothers name but it could not have been his sister so will probably remain unknown.

From Leslie Gates; Our family thinks that it is all murky due to the Jennens v. Jennens lawsuit. You can read about it in Charles Dickens' BLEAK HOUSE. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Jennens

My grandfather Jennings told me about this and his belief was Henry said he was married to Sarah so they could prove the relationship to William the Mister.

The Genealogical History of the Jennings Families in England and America also contains a information about this (pages 360-364)
