Biography

Grace Long's maiden name is unknown. She was a member in 1757 of the Baptist Church at Cohansey (later known as Bridgeton[1]). "The church at Cohansie was constituted in the year 1690 by a colony of Irish Baptists from Tipperary."[2] Perhaps she was descended from this Irish parish. Her maiden name on an unsourced gedcom was given as "Parke".

She is executor of her husband's will and the abstract of her will mentions she is a widow of Peter Long.

"Grandson, Jonathan Long, 5 shillings. Grandson, Uriah Long, 16 [Crowns], to give him schooling. Grandson, Peter Long, 5 shillings. Granddaughter, Lyda Gilman, 5 shillings. Daughters, Elenor Shepherd and Pleasant Newcomb, rest of my estate. Executor - son-in-law, William Newcomb. Witnesses - Robert Kelsay, Miriam Kelsay. Proved Dec 21, 1775. 1775, Dec. 18. Inventory, 38.7.3 [Crowns], made by Silas Newcomb and David Page. Lib. 16, p. 478."[3]
