Biography

Caroline Smoot was born 31 Jul 1827 in Virginia. She married Benjamin Crutchfield. They lived in Lewis, Missouri with their daughter in 1850. [1] In 1860, she lived in Canton, Missouri with her 2 children and a possible lodger, I Johnston. [2] In 1870, she lived in Canton in the home if her son-in-law Isaac Johnston, daughter Susan Johnston, grandson Edward Johnston and son Benjamin Crutchfield. [3] By 1880 her household consisted only of herself and her son Benjamin. [4] Caroline died July 22nd 1905 and was buried in Forest Grove Cemetery, Canton, Missouri. [5]
