FSFTID LDYK-59T.

Found this clue to her parents; " William P. Melson lived in Talbot County, GA, and is buried in Clayton County, GA, and his daughter Miranda married Levi Bishop." https://www.ancestry.co.uk/boards/surnames.melson/388.2/mb.ashx

Biography

Census records indicate that Miranda Bishop was born in Georgia during February, 1823. Her maiden name is believed, but not yet proved, to have been Melson. The first imputed reference to Miranda appears in the 1840 U.S. Census for Upson Co. Georgia, in the household of Levi Bishop. She is listed as a female age 20-30. Two children, a male child age 5-10 and a female child under 5 are also listed as residing in the household of Levi Bishop.

Census records indicate that Miranda's father was born in Maryland and that her mother was born in Georgia. Miranda married Levi Bishop approximately 1834. Miranda's maiden name and the exact date and place of the marriage is currently not known. Miranda and Levi Bishop had a long marriage together. They appear in the same household in Census records as late as the 1880 U.S. Census. Both the 1900 and 1910 U.S. Censuses list Miranda as a widow living in her son Henry's household. They had 12 children together, two of whom were twins.
