Biography
Mary Brophy's biography is mostly under her husband John Hughes. She outlived John by 10 years dying in 1891, her age at death is listed as 52 but by her birth year she must have been 57. Her baptisimal record shown under images shows that she was baptised in April 8, 1838. and her parents are listed as Denis Brophy and Mary Meara. On her death registration she is listed being a baker and living at the time at 332 Upper Water St. This is very near the address of a Willam Phelan, Baker, living at 342 Upper Water St. Their son, John Jr married a Catherine Phelan dau of Richard Phelan.
