Biography
Sarah was born in 1785. Sarah Johnson died 1860
Sarah received $50 from the state of GA in 1817 for being the widow with four orphans of Thomas Gilbert who died in the War of 1812. The next record is found in Jackson, GA, in 1824 where there are guardianship records naming her children. In order to get guardianship of her children, Sarah had to put up a $400 bond to insure that she would be responsible for them. Her neighbor in Clarke County, John Evans, stood this bond for her.
