THE FIRST IMMIGRANTS LANDED AT HOLDFAST BAY.
TO THE EDITOR.
SirXUnder the above beading Mr. Thomas Allen, writing in the Register of the 21th, seems to claim some credit for belonging to the first and only family landed at Holdfast Bay from the Tam O'Shanter in 1836. If Mr. Allen will tax his recollection he will remember there was a family of seven, by the name of Rogers, landed at the same time and place; consequently Mr. Allen's remark that he belonged to the first and only family that landed there was unnecessary.
