Elizabeth McDill was born in 1780 in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, USA. She was the daughter of Jacob McDill and his wife, name: Unknown. She married Matthew Boyd in about 1818 in Chester Co., Pennsylvania. Elizabeth had a sister, Sarah McDill, who married Matthew Boyd's brother, Samuel Boyd, at about the same time. Sadly, Samuel Boyd died before 1822.
Matthew and Elizabeth (McDill) Boyd had a son, George Boyd, born in about 1821 in Sadbury Twp., Chester County, Pennsylvania.
Elizabeth Boyd, wife of Matthew Boyd, died on January 9, 1827, "in the 34th year of her age," and is buried in the Upper Octorara Graveyard, Sadbury Twp., Chester County, Pennsylvania. [1]
(1c) 1822, 20 Jul: Matthew BOYD of Sadsbury Twp., Chester Co., PA, farmer, and Elizabeth his wife, deed to Joseph BOYD of the same place, schoolmaster. Whereas a certain Joseph RENISON and Margaret his wife, 23 May 1814, convey unto Matthew BOYD (grantor above mentioned) a certain tract of land containing 24 acres 107 perches, except a certain water right with a certain James BOYD, Recorded Bk L-3, Vol. 59, p.54; Whereas a certain George BOYD by virtue of the last will of his father James BOYD became lawfully seized of land in Sadsbury Twp., and by his last will in writing bearing date 14 Jul 1817, he did bequeath unto his son Matthew BOYD the plantation whereon he then lived, he paying to the widow and other heirs; Whereas the said Matthew BOYD by the above recited indenture from John RENISON and Margaret, by virtue of the above recited will of his father George BOYD deceased, for $1,552.21 1/2, convey 47 acres, bounded by McCALL's Ferry being a corner of Matthew BOYD's other land, James BOYD's, Enoch STEWART's land, James LATTY's land, and heirs of Samuel BOYD deceased.
