Biography

Sarah's maiden name should be stated as Unknown. Sarah initially married Daniel Lewis. When Daniel passed she married the widower Richard Bennett. After Richard passed in 1709/10, she married Robert Lancaster. Her will provides us insight into this naming convention as she filed her will as Sarah Lancaster, but in the will in 1722 had her as Sarah Lancaster, which was proved in 1723 IOW Co. and gave items to children from her previous marriages and those of her husbands'.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Sarah by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Sarah:

Hi! I "unlocked" this profile (removed PPP) after review by the US Southern Colonies Project's Managed Profiles Team. PPP stands for "project-protected profile" and must be supported by a project as manager. The team does not believe that the profile needs to be either PPP or managed by a project. If you would like the team to reconsider, please fill out the Management Request Form (see the link, here).

Thanks!

Is there any reason for continued project protection?

Received this via private message, but really belongs here-- although I'm not sure it answers my original question above:

"After Ann's death, Richard Bennett married Sarah Lewis, Widow of Daniel Lewis who died in IOW in 1697/8. . After the death of Richard Bennett, SR in 1709, Sarah married her third husband, Robert Lancaster. He died in 1720, and Sarah made her will in 1722 as Sarah Lancaster, which was proved in 1723 IOW Co.

ONLY child of record of Thomas Bennett & wife Alice:

(1) Richard Born CA 1625 Mulberry Island, Va and died 1709 Isle of Wight Co, Va. He (M) #1 Ann (Prob mother of all his children) (M) #2 Sarah (MUN) Lewis, Wid. of Daniel Lewis, who died IOW Co, 1698.

Richard Bennett resided at Blackwater, in the vicinity of the plantations of Justinian Cooper & Francis England, according to deed records.

I added a narrative on Sarah's last name and how we know the series of events.

Rather than creating another "Unknown" I suggest you leave this as Lancaster until proven otherwise.

Your decision though.

I did find this but don't know if it's related or not. Would have to research the father.
