Biography
When John Wesley Upchurch was born in 1799 in Iredell, North Carolina, his father, George, was 42 and his mother, Rachel, was 40. He married Sarah Bertram in 1823 in Wayne, Kentucky. They had seven children in 19 years. He died on June 23, 1873, in Wayne, Kentucky, at the age of 74.
