He is the son of Thomas Upton (b 1684, son of John Upton and Ann Harnden) and Anne Jeffrey (1699-1768, daughter of Thomas Jeffrey and Ann Lookam). [1]
He was christened on 28 Sep 1729 - St John the Baptist at Westfield, [2] a parish near Hastings, east division of Sussex in England. [3]
He married Mary Buckwell on 1 April 1761 at All Saints Church in Beckley, Sussex, England. [4]
