Thomas Upton was born 8 December 1835 in Eastry, Kent, England. He is the youngest son and youngest child of Morris Upton and Sarah Fagg (or Tagg).
He has seven siblings. Elizabeth Susan Belsey, Morris, Phillip. Sarah Ann, Charles, and Phillip.
Thomas Upton married Ann Elizabeth Farrar 18 October 1879 in Newtown Sydney.
They have eight children.
1. Eleanor May Upton born 26 July 1880.
2. Edward Thomas Upton born 16 July 1882.
3. Ethel Grace Upton born 11 July 1885.
4. Leslie Farrar Upton born 22 November 1887.
5. Hilda Florence Upton born 31 August 1889.
6. Netta Fanny Upton born 10 July 1891.
7. Elva Besley Upton born 28 February 1894.
8. Rendell Cavill Upton born 9 March 1897.
Annie Elizabeth Upton passed away 9 June 1943.
Thomas Upton passed away 30 December 1916, aged 80 years, at Anna Bay, Port Stephens, New South Wales. He was buried at Birubi Point Cemetery, NSW Australia.
