Most references to this John Upton indicate he was Scottish as well as his wife. His birth location and parents are therefore suspect, since Newton Ferrers, Devon, England is located in far SW England, not close to Scotland at all. A birth source for John lists his last name as Uppeton, https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:JWXB-D3J. I believe this source is incorrect. Birth date, birth location and parents should be reviewed.

Upton-460 and Upton-1199 appear to represent the same person because: These are clear duplicates. Both are married to Eleanor Stuart which are duplicated and both have daughters Mary (Upton) Stearns which are duplicated. If they are not merged please place a comment on the file as to why they were rejected. Thanks.

I don't understand why the merge of this Upton-1199 into Upton-460 was rejected. 1199 is unsourced and without data except for birth and death years, and spouse Eleanor Stuart. Alana Garber, it seems you inadvertently created several profiles paralleling some already existing profiles. They need to be merged to eliminate duplicates. (There are also two Eleanor Stuarts, -3524 which needs to be merged into +1339.)

Thank you for entering this information. I have a copy of the Upton Memorial and was hoping the information was already in here, so I wouldn't have to enter all of it. I still need to find where I fit on it.
