Biography

Elizabeth (Upton) Bliss was born in Somerset, England.

She was the daughter of Jeffrey Upton and Mary Hone. She passed away in 1630.^[1]

Elizabeth married William Strode of Shepton Mallet, Somerset before the Will of her father was written in 1582/3.^{[1] [2]} William died before 1592 when she was an executrix when the Will was settled on 1 September 1592.^[1]

Elizabeth then married Edward Bisse of Spargrove before her brother's Will was written in 1608.^{[1] [2]}

Elizabeth was buried at Milton Clevedon, Somerset on 7 January.^[1]

Elizabeth maiden surname is confirmed in her son George's biography as were her father's and husband's names.^[5]

Daughter Mary should not be confused with Mary Strode-26 who married George Chudleigh, and who was the daughter of William Strode of Newnham, Devon.^[6][7]
