Hi Cindy, I suspect we are cousins. I'd love to see the connection if you'd consider adding me to your trusted list. I would like to add you as well, but I need an email address or your wiktree ID. Also, take a look at the "Alford children." Are they really Alfords? If you look at the original census document, this appears to be a transcription error from ancestry.com. The youngest 3 are all listed as "sons." The third from last child's first name was Alford (really Alfred, but mis-recorded), which ancestry.com recorded as a surname for some reason (even in the presence of a hyphen, indicating the surname should be Upton). I contacted my uncle's family, who has all of this written in a book, and they verified this.

If you have any questions, please compare the 1880 US census with the 1885 Iowa census, which I posted on their pages. With the additions of Cynthia and Edward (are there sources for these children somewhere? I can't find any), that gives us a total of 10 children. Do you suppose the obituary was wrong or are we in error somewhere?

Hi Cindy

Before the merge - Comparing Baum-287 (L) and Baumen-1 (R) can be completed would you please confirm the LNAB for the merged profile.

There can only be one Last Name at Birth and once merged it can not be changed.

Hey Cindy,

Now that you have had a little time to try WikiTree, there are a few features you may find useful.

Ideas on what to include in a profile can be found in Styles and Standards .

If you need to describe an event, heirloom or a location relevant to your research, try Free Space Profiles .

If you run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving these unfortunate situations.

A project of note is the Global Family Reunion check it out at Global Family Reunion.

Questions? Ask via my profile page. Mags

Cindy, you are now a member of WikiTree! Please help us build one Collaborative Global Family Tree, which means only one profile per person. It's important that no duplicates are created and profiles are properly sourced. If you have pre-1700's ancestors to add please read our Pre-1700 profiles info.

To help you get started, view this introductory WikiTree video.

We also have Mentors who will be glad to answer questions.

Thanks for volunteering and welcome to the Tree!
