Biography

Helen Anna Valashek was born July 15, 1892 at Iowa City, Johnson, Iowa, USA. She was the daughter of Louis Valashek and Anna Zachar.

She can be found along with her family living in Lamons, Decatur, Iowa, USA in 1895, but by 1905 they had returned to Iowa City in Johnson country Iowa.

On November 22, 1910 Helen married Leonard Gordon Strong at Iowa City. Gordon was the son of Sylvester Strong and his wife Alice Woodruff Strong. Two children where born of this marriage.

1920 finds Gordon and Helen living in Wayne township, Mitchell, Iowa. In 1925 they have returned to Johnson county living in East Lucas twp.. 1930 Helen is working as a laundress in a family laundry and is still living in East Lucas.

Helen Anna Valashek Strong died in 1946 and is buried in the Oakland Cemetery, Iowa City, Johnson, Iowa, USA.
