Research Notes

Back in the 1970s, my grandmother told me her great-grandmother's name was Ellen. Then, in 2010, I found a census record for William and Ellen Jamison. Listed on that report was Jane McKinney, mother-in-law. So, I went to trusty old Rootsweb to see what else I could find out about her. And, in less than five minutes, I found her maiden name, her husband's first name, and had traced our line all the way back to Deventer, Holland in 1550. -- Carrie Quackenbush, 2017.

Sorry, when I merged the profile I did not see the big red merge warning on Van Deventer-163 (it was not matched).

Van Deventer-163 and VanDeventer-52 are not ready to be merged because: Deferring the merge so that the preferred profile can first get PPP status in the New Netherland project.

VanDeventer-52 and Van Deventer-163 appear to represent the same person because: Same spouse, same child. Van Deventer is the preferred spelling for the LNAB because it is consistent with naming practices of the era and it is the spelling found in genealogies for later generations of the Van Deventer family.
