Biography

Grace Venetta VanFossen was born in Slocum Township, Luzerne, Pennsylvania on 13 Jul 1906. She was the eldest of five children of Harvey VanFossen and Elsie Engler. On 7 Jun 1924 she married Philip Harry Deets at West Nanticoke, Luzerne, Pennsylvania, and Rev. F. H. Moyer performed the wedding ceremony.^[1] The couple had four children:

• Carl Ralph Deets
• Edward Philip Deets
• Marlene M. Deets

Grace Deets died on 12 Sep 1947 in Nanticoke State General Hospital, Nanticoke, Luzerne, Pennsylvania. On 15 Sep 1947 she was buried at Stairville Cemetery, Dorrance Township, Luzerne, Pennsylvania.^[2]
