Biography
Elsie was born in 1774. The daughter of Jacob Van Meter and Cathrine De Moss. Elsie was united in marriage to Mr. Walter Applegate about 1802, probably in Ohio. They lived on the Jacob Van Meter homestead near Lancaster. Elsie outlive her husband by 54 years and lived with her son Abraham in her old age. She died at age 94.
