Cari, I have found other resources for Loretta Black. She became quite easy to find and a lot of resources became available when I discovered documents that listed her by her first name Louisa. I found that she was Louisa Loretta Black. Using that, it does mean that Mary Catherine VanTine was married to her step-brother, however, Mary Catherine married Isaac before her mother, Loretta, as she was normally called and referenced to in her father's will, married Jacob VanTine. So it doesn't sound as bad as it did at first.

Hello Carl, I have been looking for my husband’s Bogardus line without any luck. John Leo Bogardus b 20 Oct 1884 in Huntsville,Schoharie,Nee York died May 1965. Wife is Anna Marie VanPelt b. 21 May 1889 New York. There is book out there Dear “cousin”, A charted genealogy of descendants of Everardus Bogardus and Anneke Jan , it is only available in a few libraries. Has anyone been able to research it?

Hello Deborah, I used to belong to William Bogardus's Dear Cousin but dropped it when he died. I've never seen the book but I do know of it. Look for him in Dutchess county. I think many of those in Schoharie were from there. Have you picked him up on any of the censuses? Cari

Sheeesh. Reply again why don't I. I found him in Jersey City, New Jersey on the 1905 state census. Through Ancestry. Father is Edward Bogardus and Mother is Mary. Siblings Edward, Laura, Martin, David, William J.

Deciding clue was from the 1910 census where he says his father is born in NY but his mother is born in Connecticut. If you don't have access to Ancestry I will be glad to download a copy and send it to you.

I went to Haithi Trust which has a search version available. I searched for John Leo and nothing came up. https://www.hathitrust.org/ The actual text is under copyright.

I am looking for Hannah Mosher, Born May 31, 1804 in Schoharie County, New York. She is my third great-grandmother. If you see anything about her (married name is "Banker") shoot me a message, okay?

I've been doing family research since 1974. In 1988 I moved to Salt Lake City where I worked as a professional for a while for several well-known companies. Now that I'm retired, I spend a great deal of time working on sourcing my 12,000 name database accurately. I can best help those who have research in New York and am not qualified to help with research outside of the United States.
