Lived in the home of Lawrence Turner there. 1649, Sept.11 Appeared in Salem Court as witness for Nicholas Pinion in Pray vs. Pinion. 1650, Sept.24 Appeared in Ipswich Court as witness in case of Turner vs. Leonard. 1652 Moved to Newport, Rhode Island. 1654, Mar.27 Bought land in Newport with Lawrence Turner from William Jeffrey. 1655 Was free man in Newport (owned land and could vote). 1657 Bought Conanicut Island with Lawrence Turner, William Jeffrey & others. 1661, March Joined company of 80 men to buy Misquamicut (includes Westerly, R.I.). 1661 Married in Newport. 1661, Sept.9 Received ¼ share in Misquamicut land division. 1661, Sept.
