Burger, Swellendam. Waarskynlik een van die “Swellendammers” wat in Junie, 1795, met ’n eie Nasionale Konvensie ’n onafhanklike republiek wou stig. [1]

It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Pieter by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
Y-chromosome DNA test-takers in his direct paternal line on WikiTree:
Petrus and Pieter were frequently interchanged as names, Pieter being the nickname of Petrus ... And inventories / death notices were also frequently incorrect or in the least fuzzy as as family relations go. I will upload this death inventory.
Jansen_van_Rensburg-143 could not have married both Petrus van der Merwe (Van Der Merwe-447) and Pieter van der Merwe (Van der Merwe-1733) on the same date (14 Apr 1782) because they are two different persons with different sets of parents and dates of birth and death. There must be a conflation somewhere.

Small clue - the document states that Petrus was a son of a Petrus. Referred to as Petrus and not Pieter.
