Research Notes

Samuel Vance profiles have been conflated and merges are now proposed to correct the profiles and the profiles of their related wive(s), as follows:

This profile was 'conflated' with the other Samuel Vance profiles, who had 'wives' named Alice / Alie Carr. This profile Samuel Vance had wife Alice / Aley / Alie Carr, was born in Virginia and died in North Carolina. This profile had only one Alice wife profile linked to it

The other Samuel Vance was born in Ireland or Scotland and died in Virginia.

  • One profile Samuel Vance was initially created with wife Sarah Colville. That profile also had 2 'other' Alice / Alie Carr / Vance profiles linked to it as wives incorrectly. At some time, his wife Sarah was unlinked.
  • The other profile Samuel Vance has the wife Sarah Colville linked to it.

Samuel also has a profile on Filae Family Trees & Billion Graves.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Samuel by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Samuel:

Vance-1669 and Vance-995 appear to represent the same person because: same father; same birth/death dates & places
Please review Research Notes on this profile about the Proposed Merges.
There has been a significant amount of error profile http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Vance-289 which contains spouse and child information for this Samuel. I will be trying to merge profiles in order to clear this up. Our two Samuels are definitely different people.
