Fanny Vance was born in Lancashire, England.

Fanny was born in Aigburth (a suburb of Liverpool), Lancashire, England, in 1860.^[1] Her birth was registered in the fourth quarter in West Derby. She was the daughter of Robert Vance and Mary Ann Clulow. She was enumerated in the 1861 census ^[2] as a child under one year old, residing with her family on Threlfall Street, Toxteth Park. The family moved to Gloucestershire where Fanny was enumerated in the 1871 census ^[3] as a ten year old in Prestbury.
