Hey Melissa,

On your profile page - close to the top are tabs. One of those tabs is and edit tab. click on it. Look over to the right where Father is listed with the links underneath of add /edit. Click on the link and add away.

Look at editing profiles for more information.

Also at the top right of your profile page you will find a help menu. click on it and you will find all sorts of information to help you along.

Add your limbs to our big ole tree! You are now a member of the WikiTree Community. Please note we are trying to build one Collaborative Tree which means one profile per person. It is important to ensure no duplicates are entered as you add any Profiles to WikiTree.

If you need any help getting started check out the help section from the menu, top right, or head over to the G2G forum and take a minute to introduce yourself in the Tree House, you might also want to check out the introductory WikiTree video that a member created.

Our Mentor Team are a friendly bunch of volunteers who will be glad to help you with specific problems if you have any.

Melissa, Are you on the edit screen when you click on parent? If not, you should find a box near the top of your profile marked Edit. Click on that and it should take you to a screen where you can edit your family. Jess

Not sure why I can't add my family to my tree. When I click on parent, It comes back to my home page.

I am glad to hear you are interested in learning more about your family history. Are you planning on contributing to our Wikitree and adding your own research or are you wanting to search and use the forum? You are more than welcome to do so, it is free, and you don’t have to become a volunteer. If you want to contribute as well, please leave us another message and we can then make you a full member. As indicated above, if you just want to use our forums and search around then you can do that as a guest. One of our volunteers will be happy to make you a full member if you post again.
