Blanch was said to be the daughter of John Castell, Gent., of London, mercer, and Isabel, daughter and co-heiress of John Metford, Esq.. She was also said to be the legatee in the 1493 will of her grandmother, Blanche Metford.[1]
She was a widow when she married Hugh Vaughan, probably in 1522 between the death of Hugh's first wife, Anne Percy in July of that year and the birth of son George who was 14 years and more in October 1536 (hence born 1522/1523) at the time of Sir Hugh's Inquisition Post Mortem.
