Charles was admitted to Emmanuel College, Cambridge on 13 March 1620-1. B.A. 1624-5; M.A. 1628. [1]
The Rev. Charles Vaughan, M.A., was rector of Banagher and Dungiven, co. Londonderry, 1631-1663.
He was instituted as Prebendary of Comber (Derry) on 6 October 1631. (FF.) He was named in the second Charter, granted on March 7, 1633. He continued to hold this prebend in 1664. [Reg. Armagh.]
Charles married Dorothy Downham, daughter of Bishop George Downham and Anne Harrison.
He died in 1668, and did not leave a will. He was buried on 25 January 1667 [1668] in Derry Cathedral. [2]
