Ettie and her husband lived in the house once occupied by her grandparents, Wm. Thomas (Jerry) and Lucy Jane Mann Vaughan. She died when her older daughter, Willie Mae was six years old. Her brothers and sisters helped her husband take care of the two girls. In her will, Willie Mae left money to the Indian Mound Methodist Church to build a fellowship hall onto the main building. Her grandfather, William Burton Vaughan, was very dedicated to the church, and she wanted to honor his memory. Much of the information on this family comes from the dedication speech for the fellowship hall. I have a copy of that speech, which my cousin gave.
