Stephen's 1840 Census record uses Vaughan. His 1830 and 1850 records use Vaughn, as does his widow's 1860 record. Spelling Vaughn is used here based on the earliest record.
Date of Death
Although a Lucinda Vaughan of the correct age was buried in Winston County, Alabama in 1914[1], no records were found to tie that Lucinda to the Vaughn family of Marion County. I did not find Lucinda living with her birth family after the 1860 Census. No marriage or death record was found at FamilySearch or Ancestry connecting to the Stephen Vaughn family.
