KETURAH FRANCES "KITTY" VAUGHT Coffman 1860 - BEFORE 25 Sep 1912

Keturah Frances "Kitty" Vaught was born about 1860, the daughter of Jacob Vaught 1837-1913 and his wife, Nancy Jane Vaught 1835-1917. Keturah was one of 10 children.

Keturah was "supposed" to have died around 1894 according to the BOOK: Oxcarts through the Cumberland Gap by Helen Spurlin (which I own) HOWEVER, research in 2014 PROVED Keturah "Kitty" "Katie" Coffman DID NOT DIE in 1894 - She was DIVORCED on 15 March 1895.
That is why I could never locate where she was buried. My husband and I even made the trip to Benedict Cemetery with no results. We just thought there was no stone for her. Then found out through the Newspaper article that Lindsey Coffman divorced Katurah VAUGHT Coffman and married a younger woman, Alice McCowan just a few days later according to newspaper articles.

L.P. Coffman who was granted a DIVORCE by Circuit Court last week and was Married at the Court House yesterday to Miss Alice McCowan. It was Judge Davison's 1st ceremony and was a very impressive one.

The Marriage was set for Wednesday but Coffman's neighbors threatened a "Charivari" and he post-poned it a day.
