Biography

Henry Grady Vaught was born December 12, 1889 in Caddo Gap, Montgomery, County, Arkansas, the youngest son of Silas Perron Vaught and his second wife, (Elizabeth) Jane née Petty Ellington. She divorced her husband Nathaniel Ellington, with whom she had three children, to marry the more prosperous Judge Silas Vaught. Jane brought the two older children to her new union; the youngest was raised by his father,

On July 12, 1908, Henry married Cora Ann Peel (1890-1979); daughter of John Wesley Peel and Mary Frances Robbins. Cora and Henry had four known children. At some point, the family moved to Mississippi where Henry died February 14, 1962 and was buried at Natchez City Cemetery, Natchez, Adams County, Mississippi.

When Cora passed away on October 19, 1979, she was interred beside him.
