Johanis Veeder, of Johnstown, New York, made his will on 16 May 1798. It was probated on 18 January 1803. The will is available online at familysearch.org.[10]

The will mentions wife Elisebeth; sons Simon and his daughter Elisebeth, John Volkert, and Abraham; daughters Eve Simmons, Annatie Van Antwerp, Maria and John Wemp’s children, Janneti and John Davis’ children; John W. Wallace, likely a child of Veeder's putative 2nd wife, Elisabeth Wallace. A provision of the will that immediately precedes the bequest to Wallace reads as follows: "And whenever any dispute should arise with my son John or between my son John and my said wife on John's performing the conditions or duties laid on him by this will, my executors herein after mentioned are to judge thereon."

Executors were to be son Simon and Jacob H. Schermerhorn. Witnesses were Cornelius Haring, William Goetz, and Christopher Shuttis.[11][12] 1798 date found in NSDAR Lineage Book.[13]
