I think Alice and Ellen are the same person. Ellen is the correct profile to keep.

Thank you for your comments. I looked at the information again and there isn't any real evidence to support Alice being a sister to Ellen.

Venables-143 and Venables-31 appear to represent the same person because: I will agree that they are the same person, and that Ellen is the correct first name. They should be merged.

See Venables-31 for comments regarding the rejected merge.

Note that the source claims that Ellen was a daughter of Hugh and Agatha, but no daughter named Alice is mentioned. The daughters that are mentioned are each married to someone other than John Arderne. So it appears that Alice Venables-143 is the same person as this Ellen.

That may be. But they have mostly the same children, who also need merging if they are really the same. If Ellen and Alice are different people, then the children need to be assigned to the correct mother. Maybe we can start by merging the duplicate children.

Venables-143 and Venables-31 do not represent the same person because: I think Alice and Ellen and two different people. Perhaps sisters. Perhaps both married to John de Arnerne.

Venables-143 and Venables-31 appear to represent the same person because: Same person, same husband and children

Here is an added source for Alices' marriage to John Arderne.
