Margaret Verdun' was the daughter and heir of her father Sir John de Verdun, 1st Baron Verdun and either his 1st wife Maud or 2nd wife Agnes [1][2] Topographical History of the County of Norfolk by Francis Blomefield has 2nd wife name Isabel.
she was not the daughter of Edmund, but his sister. [1]
Marriage
Margaret married twice. Her first husband was Sir Hugh Bradshaw (Bradshagh), [1][3](d. c 20 Aug 1383), son of Roger de Bradshaw and Margaret.
They had issue.
Sir William de Bradshagh, lord of Blackrod and West Leigh, b. c 1379, d. 2 Oct 1415 [4] whose only daughter Elizabeth (the wife of Sir Richard Harrington) is mentioned in several of the Fines relating to her grandmother Margaret's seven manors in the midlands — ultimately succeeding to Brixworth, which was one of them.[1]
She married secondly to Sir John Pilkington [5]. Margaret was a ward of the Duke of Lancaster, after her first husband's death, and Sir John de Pilkington by marrying her without obtaining the Duke's consent committed a grave act — but was pardoned on payment of twenty marks. [1] They had issue
Sir John of Pilkington, Bury, etc. (b. c 1393/4, d. 23 Feb 1451), made knight at Agincourt, m. Elizabeth, dau. of Sir Edmond Trafford. Elizabeth married 2ndly to Sir Peter Legh of Lyme. [6]
Edmund, Esq. b. c 1396, d. b 3 May 1451 married 1st Elizabeth, dau. of Sir Thomas Booth married 2ndly Katherine, sis. of John Assheton (Ashton).
By Writ dated 27th August, 1383, the Escheator of Lancashire was ordered to assign dower to Dame Margaret out of lands settled on her by Hugh de Bradshagh, and she is described therein as " wife of John, son of Roger de Pilkington, Chevalier." [1]

Richardson Royal Ancestry, Vol 1, pp. 559-560 states that Margaret (Margery) was the daughter of Edmund De Verdun and Joan______, and that she married first Hugh Bradshagh. Further John Verdun and Agnes ____ had one son Edmund (p. 558).
On the other hand, this profile relies on "History of Pilkington Family", page 45 (https://archive.org/details/historyofpilking00pilk/page/45/mode/1up?q=edmund&view=theater) which says Sir John Pilkington, son of Sir Roger, married Margaret the daughter of Sir John Verdon, and widow of Hugh de Bradshagh. It cites footnote 132: "Margaret was the only daughter of Sir John de Verdon by his first wife Maud. His only son Edmund died before him without issue, and when Sir John de Verdon died in 1392 he left his daughter Margaret sole heiress after the death of his second wife [Final Concords Divers Counties, 1330, m. 6, n. 14]."
How accurate is that footnote? The footnote says "first wife Maud", but Richardson says first wife AGNES and second wife Maud
See also profile Edmund [Verdun-11] naming Agnes as Edmund's mother and "They had 1 daughter (Margaret (Margery), wife of Sir Hugh Bradshaw, & of Sir John Pilkington).[4] ", relying on Richardson
Need some consistency !!!!!
Richardson is a well respected authority; but did he miss the cited footnote? Who is her father.. John Verdon or his son Edmund? (Richardson does not name Margaret as an issue of John Verdun, or any of his wives) ????
