Elizabeth Betsy Vest was born about 1806, daughter of Isham Vest (1768–1845) and Nancy Pledge (1774–~1861).^[1]

Elizabeth (18) married Thomas Henderson Poindexter (23) (born about 1801) in 1825 in North Carolina. Their children were:

• Nancy Redford Poindexter (~1837–~1917)
• Sarah Elizabeth Poindexter (1844–1922)
