Ann Vezey, eldest daughter of George Vezey and a mother named Joan, was born in Lancaster County, Virginia Colony, perhaps about 1663.[1]
Ann's father, George, died in about Mar 1666.[2] Within four months of George's death, Ann's mother, Joan, had taken as her second husband, Giles Crouch.[3]
Ann was shown to be under age on September 9, 1669 when the property of Richard Crouch, deceased, was ordered appraised. Her mother Joan Vezey had married Richard Crouch after the death of her father.
Ann married John Taylor by 13 Nov 1689.[4] They likely wed in Lancaster County, where she was raised. She was the mother of John Taylor, Thomas Taylor, Benjamin Taylor, Moses Taylor and James Taylor.
She most likely died in 1713 in Wicomico, Northumberland, Virginia. Ann was mentioned on a memorial in Wicomico Parish Church Cemetery, Wicomico Church, Northumberland County, Virginia, United States with a death date of 1713.[5]
Researchers Notes
The last name was also spelled Vesey and Vasey.
Edmond Basye married Eliza Taylor, daughter of John Taylor and Ann (Vezy) Taylor. This John Taylor died between October 11, 114 and April 10, 1717. The latter's father was John Taylor of Wicomico Parish, Northumberland County, Virginia, who owned large tracts of land in that County. He died in 1702, leaving a Will, dated April 15, 1702. The public records were destroyed by fire, and so a copy of his Will cannot be had. His widow, Alice, and his son, the above named John Taylor, were appointed Execurtors April 15, 1702, as appears from the Order Book in Northumberland County, 1699-1713. [6]
