Biography

  • 1820 United States Federal Census, enslaved 4 persons.

"Little is known about this Samuel. His placement as Jordan's son is purely speculative. There is no direct evidence for it. Jordan does have a son under 10 in the 1800 census. The only other Vick known to have lived in Moore County is Nathan [#55], who was enumerated there in 1810. However, he is not believed to have had a son named Samuel. John Vick [#53] could also be Samuel's father. In the 1810 census, he had a male child who could be Samuel." [1]
