Eufemia Vigil ... [1]
Eufemia Vigil Gonzales attended New Mexico Normal School, later New Mexico Highlands University, in Las Vegas, New Mexico about 1934-36. She received certification to teach school after two years. She worked as a teacher in Rowe, New Mexico in the late 1930s where she boarded, returning to her parents home in Pecos, New Mexico on weekends when feasible. She also worked as a hostess at the dude ranch in Pecos, New Mexico that was called "Valley Ranch", later to be acquired as a Benedictine Monastery.
After raising her family, she returned to teaching at St. Francis Elementary School in Santa Fe, New Mexico from about 1962 - 1970 where she taught kindergarten and had substitute teaching responsibilities.
She was an active member of the St. Francis Cathedral Altar Society from the early 1960s until the 1980s.
