Biography

Emily was born on the 30th July 1862 the daughter of Thomas Iphedeiah Vincent and Selina Watson (Martin) Vincent, and her birth was registered in the 3rd quaretr 1862 in Islington, Middlesex, England.^[1][2][3]

1871 Census on the 2nd April 1871 Emily was living at 21 Grovedale Road, Islington, Middlesex with her parents Thomas and Selina and her siblings Jessie, Robert, Stephen and Alfred.^[4][5]

1881 Census on the 3rd April 1881 Emily a servant, was living at Grove Cottage, Grove Lane, Hackney, Middlesex.^[6]

In 1885 Emily was included in the London Sandemanian Membership List and shown as living at 112 Drayton Park, Highbury N.

Emily married William David Mercer and the marriage was registered in the 4th quarter 1885 in Islington, Middlesex.^[7][3]

1891 Census on the 5th April 1891 Emily was living with her husband William in Witherington Road, Islington, Middlesex, England with their children Jean, Selina, Thomas and George.^[8]

1901 Census on the 31st March 1901 Emily was living with her husband William at 104 Sydney Road, Hornsey, Middlesex with their children Jean, Selina, Thomas, George, Ruth and Leonard. Percy Williams who was 6 years old and Nora Williams who was 3, were living as visitors with their uncle and aunt.^[9][10]

1911 Census on the 2nd April 1911 Emily was living with her husband William in Hornsey, Middlesex, England with their children Selina, Ruth, Leonard and Winifred.^[11]

Emily died aged 72 in 1935 in Edmonton, Middlesex.^[12]
