Allen Vincent was born in 1834 in England to James and Elizabeth Vincent. [1]. I could only source one record for this year matching this name in England. When he was about 22, Allen emigrated to the United States in 1856 on the ship named Palestine, which ported in New York City, New York. [2]
In the 1870 census, he was recorded as living in Michigan with his family. [3] By 1880, he had moved to Savannah, Butler County, Nebraska. The 1880 US census recorded his occupation as a farmer. [4]
Allen married Eliza J Stevens on 29 Nov 1867 in Indiana.[5] This may have been a second marriage. [6]
Allen and his wife were mentioned in the marriage between Irwin Lloyd and Millie Vincent (their daughter) in Indiana in 1897. Their daughter's name may have been misspelled in the Census records of 1870, since the census takers recorded her as Minnie, at age 5. [7]
The death date is a guess, but it is possible Allen Vincent was buried in Bellwood, Butler County, Nebraska, USA. https://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=33215101
The headstone also gives an indication to his actual date of birth, if it is the same person, which I believe it to be so. More investigation is encouraged.
