Jane Vincent was the daughter of George Vincent and his first wife Anne Slorey.[1]
There is no record for her birth year. It is sometimes assumed to be 1511, but no source provided. This is unlikely as Edward Vincent born 1526 was her parents first male child, and since in the Visitations she is not listed as an early child.[1] Based on father's birth in 1493 and known birth of her child in 1554, 1520 is adopted here as mid-range estimate.
It is assumed that she was born in the family manor in Peckleton, Leicestershire, England.
She married first Nicholas Purefey.[1]
After he died, she remarried to William Faunt.[1][2] Their children included Arthur Faunt (born 1554), a well-known jesuit scholar.[2]
A daughter Jane is the only daughter of George Vincent mentioned in his will, dated 1565.[3] However, it appears from the Visitations that George had another daughter also named Jane with his third wife, and this Jane married Francis Cave.[1] It is therefore possible that this will is referring to his youngest daughter Jane.
