Biography

HONORE DUON is on the Wall of Names at the Acadian Memorial in St. Martinville, Louisiana, on Plaque 3-L. Listed with him are his wife, Marie Vincent, and three children, Perpetue, Jean, and Francois Duon.[1]

Anne Marie Vincent was born about 1713 in Pisiguit, Acadia.[2]

Anne Marie and Honore Duon were married about 1742 in Acadia.[2][3]

Children of the marriage:

  4. Francois Duhon (1749-1789)[3]
  5. Marie Julie Duon (1751)
  6. Pierre Duon (1753)[3]

They were imprisoned at Fort Edward and her husband sent on to Halifax during the Seven Years War, from about 1758 until freed in 1763.[6]

They were released after the war ended in 1763, and they made their way to Louisiana. She was living with her husband Honore Duon on the west bank of Louisiana at the Acadian Coast in 1766.[7][8]

Household Members:

She died sometime after the census of 23 April 1777 in Ascension Parish, Louisiana New Spain, and was buried in present-day Donaldsonville, Ascension, Louisiana. Or in 1790 in St. Gabriel, Louisiana. Either way, a source is needed.

Vincent-2214 and Vincent-2912 are not ready to be merged because: I have uncovered another possible duplicate so have postponed the merge I just requested; sorry for the hasty merge request. This family has a lot of confused people and duplicates which is taxing my brain.
