Johannes was born about 1714. He died before 23 June 1784 when his will was proved in Sussex County, New Jersey.
Note the transition from the German Vogt (pronounced Fote) to the American Fite. His name was scrawled as what looks like Johannes Voigt in the ship Ann register, upon which he migrated from Germany, arriving 28 Sep 1749 in the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania port.[1]

Son, Peter, first born child, one English crown. Youngest son, Leonard, 30 pounds in gold or silver. Said sons to have the mill and land. Wife, Catharine Elizabeth, 100 pounds in gold or silver. Daughters, Catharine, the wife of Johannis Titman, Christiana, wife of Lowrance Lamberson, and Mary, the wife of Henry Rumfelt, all his stock of cattle, sheep, swine, and all his household furniture of any denomination whatever not reserved for his wife. Executors--wife Catharine Elizabeth and son Peter. Witnesses-Lowrance Lambertson, Brachia Lambertson William Rea.
