He married Catherine Cusbert at Sydney in 1849. There are two records of their marriage in the New South Wales BDM Register. The only difference is the registration number.[1][2][3] The district on their marriage record was shown as "JB" which was an early New South Wales Church Code for the St Andrews Scots Church parish Presbyterian Church in Sydney.[4]
They had 7 children.
He passed away on 22 October 1919 at Dural, New South Wales, Australia[5]
and was buried at the Dural Uniting Cemetery, Dural, New South Wales, Australia. [6].
