Near New Santa Fe, Missouri Township 47, Range 33W
Mrs. Alice Kenney McPherson (Mrs. Edward), of Belton, Missouri, gives the information that on the farm near New Santa Fe, Jackson County, owned by her grandfather, Sam Wade, were buried several members of the family whose bodies were later moved to Union Cemetery, Kansas City, Missouri. Besides Sam Wade and his wife, who were buried on the farm, there were: Lou Ann Wade, a daughter of Sam and Polly Wade, b: July 20, 1836, d: Aug. 1, 1855; married, Dec. 8, 1853, Thomas Keeney Anna Eliza Wade, the first wife of William S. Gregory, Mayor or Kansas City in 1853. This page was last updated August 19, 2006. [2]
Lou Ann is turning into a mystery girl. She was born in 1836 but was it in July or August or September? She died in 1855 but was it in August or December? Was she moved to Union Cemetery in Kansas City from the Wade family burial ground or the Keeney family burial ground? And where is her grave anyway? Why did she die so young? Why did Thomas never remarry? Things I will probably never know.[3]
See photo. If the children's birth locations are accurate, an idea of when the family moved from Kentucky to Missouri can be had.
