Biography

Quoting from Frank Sherman Wagner [with editorial insertions by J. deRoche]:

[Begin quote.]

Wilhelm Gottfried Wagner ([youngest child of] Johann Heinrich Wagner (sr) [& Anna Margarethe (surname unknown) was born March 31, 1769 in Feltzen South N.S., [Lot] E-9, and died December 1845 in Feltzen South [Lot] E-8.

He married Philipina Wolf January 8, 1793 in Feltzen south ZLL [records of Zion Lutheran Church, Lunenburg], daughter of Johann Wolf and Anna Hoffman. She was born April 16, 1768 in Rose Bay, Possibly N W range [Lot] A-41, and died March 20, 1834 in Feltzen South [Division] E, [Lot] 8.

Wilhelm now known as William received a 30 acre [farm] lot in Lunenburg south division letter E 9 [i.e., Feltzen South]. Also jointly with Henry jr. and Nicolas each 10 acres from the 30 acre town [sic; actually "farm"] lot south division letter E 10. He also received the town lot in Lunenburg lying in Steinforts division letter D 12. This lot must have been given to Wilhelm's father Johann earlier as he was also the holder of a house lot in Strasburger Division B2 (143 Pelham Street). Johann may have sold the lot in Strasburger's division or traded it. This lot is actually very hard to live on as it is on the lower side of a hill and very rocky. There is a small red barn or garage on this site today.
