Canada Waite was the daughter of Benjamin and Martha (Leonard) Waite. She was born in captivity in Canada on January 22, 1678, and was thus named "Canada."[1][2][3]
She married Joseph Smith of Hatfield, Massachusetts, in Hadley, Massachusetts, on December 15, 1696. The marriage was performed by the Rev. Mr. William Williams.[1][2][3][4]
Canada (Waite) Smith died in Hatfield on May 5, 1749, "in the 72nd year of her age" (gravestone).[2][3] She is buried at Hill Cemetery in Hatfield, where her gravestone reads:

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Canada by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Canada:
Waite-274 and Waite-228 appear to represent the same person because: they have the same birth, death and parent information. If you agree that these are two profiles for the same woman, please merge Waite-274 into Waite-228. Thank you.
