Jane Walden was born about 1828 in Feltwell, Norfolk, England. She was the daughter of Robert Searles Walden, the Elder and Jane Forster. Her mother died 4 August 1828 and we presume this coincides with Jane's birth that year. The family were non-conformists and although there are records for Jane's siblings baptised at a later date she is not recorded. Jane married a widower named Job Ashton. After Job's death Jane moved to Camberwell, Surrey to live with her nephew, Robert Walden at 11 Grove Park. Jane died in Camberwell, 17 Aug 1905 and is buried in Norwood Cemetery. She is remembered on the headstone for her sister Mary Ann Ashby.
